Representative Zinke,

I’m writing as the advocate for Glen Eaton, a Montana resident whose 1993 workplace injury at Kootenai Feed and Supply was followed by decades of injustice, evidence suppression, and systemic obstruction. You may recall this case—Glen contacted your office previously in 2008.

He was injured on the job while employed by an uninsured business. His retained attorney, Gary Seaman (now convicted of murder), destroyed original medical evidence vital to Glen’s workers’ comp claim. Additionally, the employer made a verbal admission that no workers’ compensation coverage existed, which was later contradicted in a recorded state hearing.

Glen has lived with permanent disability, opioid trauma, and the theft of justice. We have compiled a full complaint summary detailing the history of the injury, the mishandling of the case, and the extensive outreach attempts made since—including to your office, Governor Gianforte, and the Montana DOJ.

Due to your form’s limitations, I cannot attach the full summary or evidence archive here. However, we are prepared to provide these materials upon verified request from your staff or office. They include:

This is a matter of civil rights, ethical malpractice, and long-denied workers' compensation. Please confirm how your office would prefer to receive these materials.

Sincerely,
Dustin Michael Shappee

Correction regarding Gary Seaman

Sent on April 30, 2025

Representative Zinke

I am writing to submit a formal correction regarding a previous communication I sent to your office as part of the Glen Eaton Justice Project.

In our original message, I mistakenly stated that Glen Eaton's former legal representative, Gary Seaman, "destroyed" his medial evidence related to a 1993 workplace injury. Upon reevaluation of Glen's statements and the timeline of events, this characterization was based on a misinterpreted comment. The verified and accurate description is that Gary Seaman withheld the evidence, and did not forward it to the appropriate state agency.

This correction is made in good faith and is being implemented across all public-facing materials related to the project.

I thank you for your prior attention and for keeping this matter of Montana labor justice under review.

Respectfully,
Dustin M. Shappee
Advocate for Glen Eaton
